We had a great time celebrating Tanabata today at Beanstalk!
The students serenaded their families and accompanied the singing on instruments they learned to play.
All the children wrote their wishes on the tanzaku wish papers.

今年もこれまで同様快晴に恵まれ、スクールで始まったパーティーはランチのあと、パフォーマンスからパレードへと続き、夜のTrick or treatingまで一年で一度のビッグイベントを大いにエンジョイしました。途中訪問させていただいたカフェ•オリーヴさんや寿荘では大勢の皆さんに歓迎していただき、とても良い経験をすることができました。ご協力いただいた方々に感謝申し上げます。
This year, we had wonderful weather for our Halloween celebration. Whether it was having lunch together, our performances, and Halloween parade, our the nighttime Trick-or-Treat, all events were highly enjoyed by all. On the way we were invited to the Dear Olive cafe and Kotobuki-sou retirement home, where we shared our celebratory spirit.
持ち寄りのランチパーティーでは、会場に並べきれないほどごちそうが並び、もう少しゆっくりランチを楽しみたかったと反省。来年はぜひもう少し長く食事の時間をとることにします！
At our lunch party, we had so many guests at our school and enjoyed a potluck lunch featuring dishes prepared by our preschool families.
クラスごとのパフォーマンスでは、みんなちょっぴり緊張の様子でしたが、練習通りの出来栄えに大満足!!
All our classes performed their songs, some students from the first time, and they were a little nervous but everyone did a great job!

寿荘入居者の方々は、子供たちの手を引いたりお膝に乗せてくださったり暖かく迎えてくださいました。園児からは、日本語の歌をプレゼントさせていただきました。
The residents of Kobobuki-sou kindly welcomed our students in, and held their hands and let the students sit on their laps. The students presented the residents with some English and Japanese songs.
今年のスタッフの仮装テーマは「不思議の国のアリス」でした。ハロウィーン大好きスタッフたちは、9月から準備に余念がありませんでした。皆さまにご満足いただけたかな〜、とちょっぴり心配です。
This year, our staff costume theme was “Alice in Wonderland”. Our staff, who loves Halloween, were excited since September! How did you like them?
遠くロシアにいるおじいちゃまより、お洋服のプレゼント。ありがとうございました♥
This student got her beautiful dress all the way from her Grandfather in Russia! How wonderful.

7月6日には、今学期最大のイベント「七夕ミニコンサート」が開催されました。
この日のためにひと月前から練習した歌や楽器を披露し、短冊に願い事を書きました。
外国籍のお友達の何名かは、一足早く夏休みの里帰りでお休みの方がいらっしゃいましたが、9月の夏休み明けには、みんな元気に再会できることを願っております!
We had our annual Tanabata Mini-concert on July 6th. All the children practiced their songs and instruments for over a month prior to the concert.
We wrote wishes on our tanzaku in English and hung them on the bamboo branch.

Some of our foreign students went back to their home countries for an early summer vacation and were not able to join us. We hope to reunite with everyone at the end of the summer break in September.
2月に入りビーンストークでは、楽しいイベントが続いています。本日はその様子をご紹介します。
In February we have two events, the Setsubun sushi party, and our Sports Day.
節分寿司パーティー Setsubun sushi party
先生から巻きずしの作り方を教わり、恵方巻きを作ってみんなで食べました。
海外から来たお友達は初めてのお寿司作りと、豆まきを体験しました。
After throwing beans at the demon to scare him away and bring good fortune (see above), the students learned how to make sushi rolls, which are traditionally eaten during Setsubun.
運動会 Sports day
2月4日には季節外れの運動会を実施し、当日会場となった天白スポーツセンターには、100名近くのご家族にお集まりいただき、大きな拍手と歓声を送っていただきました。
On Saturday February 4th we held our sports festival at Tenpaku Sports Center. Close to 100 people attended and we all had a great time. Being held on a Saturday, it enabled many fathers to attend as well. 
ビーンストーク•インターナショナル•スクールでは、プリスクールの春休み期間を利用し、2012スプリング•スクールを開校いたします。
今年度のスプリング•スクールでは、サイエンスをテーマに実験的なプログラムを多数取り入れます。1st sessionでは、地質学(Geology)、2nd sessionでは、地理学(Geography)、3rd sessionでは、様々なプラネットを取り上げます。
もちろん施設内での公用語は英語とし、毎日行われるリーディング•スペリングの時間には、全米No.1に選ばれたZoo-phonicsメソッドを使用します。

ビーンストークではインターナショナル•プリスクールの お休みを利用し、2011ウィンタースクールを実施いたしました。本日は1stハーフに引き続き、2ndハーフの様子をアップデイトさせていただきます。
今回のテーマであるアートにはいろいろな要素があり、何をアートと捉えるかは人それぞれです。ビーンストークでは、空手を日本のアートと捉えるなど、さまざまなアプローチで10日間アート三昧の日々を送り、子供たちはもちろんスタッフも大はりきりでした。
自分の絵を見つけて大よろこび！
もちろん音楽はみんなが大好きな分野です。オーケストラの楽器を学んだあとは、コンサートも開きました。
ちびっ子は楽器の音を当てるゲームをしてたくさんの楽器に触れました。
楽しいパーティーもありました。自分で作ったお料理は格別です！
次に会えるのはスプリングスクーツね！と、遠方から来られたお友達との別れを惜しむ方もいらっしゃいました。See you soon!

ビーンストークでは、12月14日からウィンタースクールを開校しております。今回のテーマをビーンストーク•アート•スタジオ / Beanstalk Art Studioと決定してから、張り切ってプランニングをしてきましたが、アート好きな教師が多いビーンでは、やりたい事がありすぎて今回はまずは第一弾とさせていただき、次回以降も導入していきたいと思います。まずは速報をご覧ください。
ファーストセッションの3日間には、日本のアートの中で空手を紹介しました。
この日はじめて空手に挑戦する子供たちも、先生の叱咤激励に恐る恐るチャレンジしました。
もちろん経験者は「つき」や「けり」のポーズもさまになっています。
空手は「礼に始まり、礼に終わる」事も学びました。
空手のあとは、先生にもお手伝いいただき「お餅つき」をしました。
セカンドセッション、サードセッションと、この後もビーンストークのアート•スタジオは続きます。最後の日には、みんなの作品をジムに展示し、エキシビジョンを開きます。
12月13日ビーンストークでは一足早いクリスマスコンサートを実施いたしました。
毎年行われるこのイベントも、今回は初めてのホールコンサートとなり、会場内は子供たちの可愛らしい歌声でいっぱいになりました。師走のお忙しい中、足をお運びいただいたご家族の方々に感謝申し上げます。

Yesterday, December 13th, we held our annual Christmas concert.
This year was special as it was the first time ever that we held our Christmas concert outside of Beanstalk. As the student numbers and our dreams increase, we find that we require more and more space.
This year our concert was held at Meitou Cultural Theatre
The children practiced really hard in preparation for the show and did an excellent job on the stage. It was our best concert ever!
Each family at Beanstalk made a Christmas card and brought it to school. They made a lovely display at the entrance of the theatre.
Everybody had a great time and we are looking forward to more great concerts in the future.
