It’s September…. Welcome back to school!

We are meeting some new friends here at Beanstalk this month, and we are getting re-acquainted with our old friends, too.

We had lots of fun playing outside in this beautiful early-Fall weather together!

Every day is a great day to make a new friend!

Second semester has officially begun.

Everyone was happy and excited to see their teachers and friends.

And we are all looking forward to lots of exciting events happening – from halloween to christmas and more.

Let’s enjoy ourselves to the fullest!

And just like that! we finished our summer school in a flash.

Along with a tasty special lunch and an enjoyable summer craft.

Everyone had an amazing day.

Now we’re ready for the start of the second semester!

As part of this year’s summer school, we have been studying the calendar, and we have now arrived at the end of the month – December.

You know what that means?!

The snow, the chilly temperatures, and of course, the arrival of Santa Claus.

Making this got us pumped for the winter weather.

We had so much fun on our last field trip of summer school!

We visited Nagoya Port Aquarium to learn about the wonderful world under the sea.

Older students enjoyed an informative lecture all about the aquarium and the animals, while younger students got right into checking out their favorite creatures!

We watched the orca whale training, had a big yummy lunch, and stayed for the dolphin show!

After that, we visited the remaining creatures like sea turtles, penguins, and even sharks.

Then made our way back to Beanstalk on the bus- what a fun and busy day.

Our children are fascinated by the ocean.

As part of our upcoming trip, we discussed about ocean life.

We did fun group activities on matching the sentences with the pictures, reading about ocean animals and we even made a cool craft shark!

Wow, a solar system with planets that can really orbit!

Elementary school students worked on making their very own solar systems, from making the planets to decorating the sky with stars.

They use a special tool to move the planets through space magically- magnets!

Learning is so much fun when it’s hands-on.

We had a special summer dessert workshop!

Students made frozen treats two ways- younger students made in melting popsicles using fruit, juice, and agar-agar to gel the mixture.

After chilling for a few hours, we dug in!

Older students made ice cream the old fashioned way, using salt and ice cubes to chill the milk and sugar mixture.

It was so much fun to make and eat our own creations.

In the words of the children: “delicious!”

We have been learning so much about the stars and how they correlate to our modern calendar!

For our big project, we have been working on calendars with each page being a different constellation.

Each constellation is decorated in a different way to make the calendar special.

What fun it will be to use our own calendars for the year ahead!
