3学期のまとめ　Fun in the third semester!

3学期初めのビッグイベントは節分でした。子供達は自分で作った恵方巻きを食べてクラフトを作ったあと、いよいよ鬼の登場です。あまりの興奮に写真を撮るのも忘れてしまいました。

Kids had fun throwing beans at the Oni on Setsubun day. After that they ate their own sushi they made by themselves.

今年の恵方「南西」の方向を向いて、一番たくさん食べた子は、なんと6本！今までの最高新記録が出ました。

節分のあとはすぐにバレンタインのイベントがありました。毎年チョコレートのおやつを作って、おうちの方にプレゼントします。今年は可愛いらしい「どらやき」を作りました。
On Valentines day we had fun making dorayaki with chocolate filling! Kids cut heart shaped pancakes and decorated them with sprinkles.

毎年２月に行われるスポーツデイは、全園児とファミリーが最も楽しみにしているイベントです。この日のために、おじいちゃんやおばあちゃんが、遠くから見にきてくださったご家庭もたくさんありました。
Everybody was excited for the Sports day. Here you’ll see the kids practicing their cheers and drum performance. Well done for team spirit and sportsmanship.

保護者参加のゲームもいっぱいで、参加者全員エキサイテッド！スーパージャンプやフアインプレーが続出です。ママさんたちのチアーリーダーズもバッチリ決まっていました。
Parents and guardians participated and too. We saw amazing jumping, running and throwing skills. What an active and fun day it really was.

3月のひな祭りは、毎年女の子がオシャレをして登園する日です。今年も可愛く着飾ってくださり、とっても華やかな1日でした。
On Hina Matsuri- Girls’ Festival girls looked very beautiful in their dresses even the boys looked really handsome. Kids ate hina-arare crackers for snack to celebrate the festival.

ウィンタースクール•レポート/Winter School Report

ビーンストークでは、クリスマス休暇の前後に毎年恒例のウィンタースクールを開校しました。英語で終日過ごす冬季のプログラムは、楽しいイベント盛りだくさんで、スクールの中は外の寒さを吹き飛ばすくらい元気な笑い声であふれていました。
Although it was short, everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly at this year’s Beanstalk Winter School program!

今回のテーマは「宇宙」です。毎日テーマに沿ったアクティビティーを実施しました。
We learned about Space, but also enjoyed our traditional winter activities.

こちらは恒例「餅つき&空手」です。空手の練習の後は、つきたてのお餅で腹ごしらえ。
The children enjoyed kicking, running, and learning new moves in Karate class.

力持ちの空手ティーチャーズは、ビーンストークのお餅つきになくてはならない存在です。美味しいお餅をいとも簡単につきあげて下さいます！
With the help of our strong Karate teachers, we made mochi in preparation for the new year. All the children loved rolling and eating the soft, freshly-made mochi!

クリスマス前クッキングプロフジェクトでは、マッシュポテトのカナッペでツリーを作り、プチトマトのサンタで飾りました。
On the last day before winter vacation, we cooked a Christmas treat for our friends! Classes made one of three kinds of foods, and shared with their friends in the other classes.

ウィンタースクール期間に行われたサタデークラスでは、クリスマスパーティーでプレゼント交換やゲーム大会を行いました。
We also had a Christmas party on Saturday featuring cooking, games, and a rousing game of pass-the-parcel!

ウィンタースクールの最後には、トヨタ体験科学館へ出かけ「プラネタリウム」を見てきました。体験型の遊具や実験道具もたくさんあり、所員の方からは静電気について教えていただきました。
After the break, the older students went on an excursion to Toyota Science Museum where they enjoyed the planetarium, a science show, and lots of hands-on activities.

ビーンストークの3学期は、「Good morning!」の元気な声で始まり、イヤーエンドまで一気に駆け抜けます。目指せ「インフルエンザ•ゼロ」!!
Now the new semester has started and everyone is getting back into the swing of school. We hope to see you next time for Spring School!

2014年度クリスマスコンサート　4th Annual Christmas Concert

本日は、先日のポストでお伝えした2014年度ビーンストーク•クリスマスコンサートの様子をお伝えします。

Finally the time has come for our annual Christmas Concert! All the students have been practicing for the whole second semester to get ready for this big event.

エントランスでは、オーディエンスの皆さまを可愛らしいスノーマンがお迎えしました。手作りのデコレーションがクリスマスムードを盛り上げます。

All students helped make decorations, and many families made Christmas cards to decorate the hall with as well! They were beautiful.

Act 1: Drum Performance

第一部のドラム演奏では、一年かけて練習してきた超大作を披露しました。
The first act was drums. Deedee class 1, 2, and Robby Rabbit class students worked their hardest to memorize and perform these drum routines.

第二部では歌とダンスを披露し、皆さまから大きな拍手をいただきました。

2〜3歳のミッシーマウスクラスは、それぞれ違う言語の歌を(英語、日本語、スペイン語)3曲も歌い、リズムに合わせてノリノリでした！
This year for the first time, Missy Mouse class came back to sing a Japanese song! They sang “Yuki ya Konko“, and did a great job.

コンサートの途中で小さなサンタが客席に降りた時は、パパやママが大騒ぎになりました。可愛すぎて写真を撮らずにはいられない！！
Students took a break and joined the audience to watch the teachers’ song!

先生たちからは、メリークリスマスのメッセージが…❤︎
This year we had a special surprise ready for students and their families.

最後は”We Wish You a Merry Christmas”の合唱で幕を閉じました。
The students returned to the stage for their final performance.

Robby and Deedee sang together- two Japanese songs: “Awatenbo no Santa Claus” and “O-shougatsu“, and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”.

December School Life

ビーンストークでは、毎年サンクスギビングが終わると同時に、スクールエントランスにはポインセチアで彩られたアーチを、そして玄関には大きなクリスマスツリーを飾ります。いよいよ年末へのファイナルアプローチです。クラス内でのプログラムもホリデイにちなんだアートや、”冬”に関連するアクティビティーでいっぱいです。
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in Nagoya at Beanstalk International School! We have been doing lots of wintery activities and getting ready for our annual Christmas concert.

12月に入ると、近所のシニアハウス「寿荘」の方達が、小さなサンタクロースが来るのを待っていてくださいます。
We had a trip to the Kotobuki-sou retirement home to bring some Christmas cheer to the residents.

今年もクリスマスカードを作ってお歌やダンスと一緒にプレゼントしにいきました。
We sang some Christmas songs and gave out cards that we made together.

また来年も待っていてくださると約束して、お別れを惜しみました。
We hope to see everyone next Christmas! Have a happy New Year!

12月13日には、名東文化小劇場で毎年恒例のクリスマスコンサートを行います。デコレーションは全て手作りです。
We made some winter crafts in our classes. Some to take home, and some to decorate the theater with!

コンサートでは、ドラム演奏も披露します。そのために練習してきたプログラムは超大作！世界的に有名な指導者梶山宇一先生の下で、熱心に練習した成果をお見せすることができればいいのですが…
Deedee Deer and Robby Rabbit classes have been practicing the drums to get ready for the big day. Our music teacher Mr. Uichi really went all-out this year on the big drum finale!

劇場でのドレスリハーサルにも熱がこもります。
Everyone tried their best at our dress rehearsal at Meito Playhouse.

ステージに上がることが初めての2歳児さんも、不安や心配は全くなくリハーサルをエンジョイしました。当日はパフォーマーにもオーディエンスにも全ての方にお楽しみいただけることを願っています。
We sang our songs and practiced drums on the stage. Everyone was excited at the thought of performing for their families at the theater!

おまけ…
お兄ちゃん、お姉ちゃん達がパフォーマンスの練習に励んでいる間、2-3歳クラスのミッシーさんもアクティブに過ごします。寒いからといってお部屋の中に閉じこもっていられません。お外で思いっきり遊べば、寒さも吹っ飛びます！
While our bigger friends have been practicing drums, Missy Mouse class has been staying active, too. We’ve been playing outside as much as possible despite the cold weather- Missy students are too energetic to stay inside every day!

Beanstalk Halloween Party

本日は10月31日に実施したハロウィーンイベントの様子をご紹介します。
It’s October 31st…. Welcome to our Halloween Party!

「今年のテーマはスペースにする！」と決めて以来、スタッフもそれぞれどんなコスチュームにするか考えていました。スクールの施設内も宇宙船の様に飾り付けをし、ポップなデコレーションは片付けるのがもったいないほど一生懸命作りました。
Our school theme was “Outer Space” and all teachers and staff dressed the part. We decorated the school with hand-made spacy decorations.

12:00からのプリスクール•ポトラック•ランチパーティーは、仮装した子供達やパパ•ママで大にぎわいでした!　この日のためにお友達や親子で揃えた方や、手作りのコスチュームでユニークなキャラクターを身にまとった方など、忘れられない思い出になりました。
At our preschool lunch party, all our students came dressed in fantastic costumes, and many parents, too!

スクールでのダンスパフォーマンスは大盛り上がり！一番小さい未就園児さんでも泣かないで踊って歌いました。
We had a wonderful dance performance by all students- even our youngest Missy Mouse student did not cry in front of the audience.

毎年お邪魔している寿荘では、大勢のおじいちゃまやおばあちゃまが歌やダンスを一緒に楽しんでくださいました。クリスマスでまたお会いできるのを楽しみにしています!
We made a visit to Kotobuki-sou Retirement Home, and sang and danced with the residents there. See you again at Christmas time!

夜のパレードの時には、あいにく小雨が降ってきましたが、「雨なんか気にしない！」と気合で乗り切りました。最後まで参加してくださった方、本当にありがとうございました。
At our night Halloween parade, it was raining, but none of the students seemed to mind! Many participants made it all the way to the last stop. Thank you for coming out during such weather.

ウィンタースクール 2014~15 申し込み開始

ビーンストーク•インターナショナル•スクールでは、下記の期間中プリスクールの施設を利用して
ウィンタースクールを開校いたします。今年のテーマは”「宇宙」です。2~3歳の未就園児クラスから小学生のアドバンスまで、それぞれの年齢に合わせた導入法を用い、楽しく解りやすく学習します。

イングリッシュ•イマージョン(一日中英語のみ）の環境で、生活の中からキャッチする英語のフレーズは、とても自然で確実に定着します。また、Zoo-phonicを用いた「読み」、「書き」学習による効果は絶大で、文字に対する興味が増し、自ら進んで「読む意欲」、「書く意欲」が湧いてくるようになります。

期間中3回のイベントを予定しております。特に年明けには、貸切バスを利用してトヨタ科学体験館へ出かけプラネタリウムを鑑賞します。それまでに学習した「宇宙」についての知識を確認できる機会として、ぜひご参加いただきたいと思います。

毎年名古屋市内はもとより、愛知県外からも参加していただく人気のプログラムです。お席には限りがありますので、ご希望者は早めの申し込みをお薦めいたします。

秋を楽しむ　October Events… So Far!　

10月になり、街の中もハロウィーン気分が盛り上がってきましたね。ビーンストークのハロウィーンパレードも、この地域の名物になるほどの一大ビッグイベントです！今年はご近所さんも巻き込んで、わんこラボさんのワンちゃんたちや近くのカフェの皆さまにもご協力いただきます。シニアハウスの方たちは、ちびっ子ゴーストやプリンセスの訪問を今か今かと待ってて下さいます。

今日のポストは、そんなハロウィーン気分で盛り上がる前に実施されたクラス写真の撮影と身体測定実施のご報告です。
It is October, and everyone is excited for Halloween. But that is not the only thing we have going on this month- have a look at some of the other things we have been doing.

ビーンストークでは年に2回クラスの写真撮影と、ビーンズたちの身体測定を実施し記録します。半年間でどの位ご成長されたか、スタッフ一同毎回楽しみにしています。
We took our class pictures this month, as well as our twice annual height and weight measurements and photos. Everyone was excited to pose for the camera, and find out how much they had grown. We also took class photos and measured everyone’s height and weight! You are so big and tall now.

そして、今月は1年半一緒に過ごしたお友達のお別れ遠足を実施しました。モリコロパークで過ごした一日は、お天気にも恵まれ最高の思い出となりました！最後にみんなからメッセージを伝え、帰国するお友達との別れを惜しみました。
Deedee Deer Class took a trip to Morikoro Park to celebrate our friendship with our friend Evie, who will return to her home country Australia later this month. We had a great day and made a lot of memories which will last a lifetime.

仲良くなったお友達とのフレンドシップは、海の向こうへ行ってもずっと続くよ！
We’ll be friends forever!

Welcome to the Fall Semester!

新学期が始まり、ひと月が経過しました。ビーンズ達はスクールの始まりを楽しみにしていたようで、初日から元気いっぱいでした。本日はこちらに9月のアクティビティーをご紹介いたします。
We are one month into our fall semester and things are going great. All students have already gotten back into the swing of things after our long summer vacation. We have already had several exciting events and looking forward to even more as the semester progresses.

今年はお月見がいつもより早く訪れ、新学期一週目での実施となりました。例年通り、この日はバンダナとエプロンを着けて「お月見団子」を作ります。スティッキーなお団子生地と格闘の上、上手に丸めて綺麗なお団子ができました。
The first week of school, we celebrated Tsukimi and made odango! We put on our bandannas and aprons and got ready to prepare the dango. Everyone loved rolling the sticky dough in their hands.

各クラスでは、それぞれのマンスリーテーマに添ったアクティビティーが実施されました。2〜3歳のミッシーマウスでは、「衣服」というテーマでお気に入りの洋服を持ち寄り「Show and Tell」にチャレンジしました。
また、これから訪れる寒い季節に備え、ジャケットの脱ぎ着やジッパーの開け閉めの練習も始めました。
Our classes have different themes each month. In September, Missy Mouse class had the theme of “clothing” and learned the names of different pieces of clothing, learned how to zip their own jackets by themselves, and even brought in their favorite clothing for show-and-tell.

3〜4歳のロビーさんでは、さまざまな実験的アプローチで「感覚」を学びました。野菜で版画をし、アーティスティックな作品がたくさん出来上がりました。
Robby Rabbit class learned all about senses through experiments and crafts. Using their senses they guessed what different foods and drinks were, and used veggies to make printed pictures.

4〜６歳のディーディーディアクラスでは、「恐竜」について学び、粘土で思い思いの恐竜を作り、お庭で火山を噴火させてみました。
Deedee Deer class was learning all about dinosaurs, and made some dinosaurs to bring home. They tried their hands at “excavating fossils” from chocolate chip cookies, and set off volcanoes in the front lawn!

体操のクラスでは、秋山先生の指導の下「マット運動」にトライし、E難度の技(?)に挑戦しました。
We have been trying our best during gym class, too!

9月には毎年楽しみにしている「敬老の日クラフト」のアクティビティーがあります。今年もそれぞれのクラスで心をこめてプレゼントを作りました。
It was Respect-for-the-Aged day during September, so the children all made presents for their grandparents. We hope you liked them!

ロビーラビット•クラスとディーディーディア•クラスは、お天気の良い日に市バスに乗って天白公園に出かけます。この日も快晴で、外で一日思いっきり遊びました。
Robby and Deedee took a trip together to Tenpaku Park. We rode there and back on the city bus. It was a beautiful day!

ビーンストークでは、毎年この時期に9月入園のお友達が落ち着いたのを見計らって避難訓練を実施します。初体験のミッシーさんは、状況がつかめず泣き出すお子さんもいましたが、ロビーさん、ディーディーさんのベテラン組は迅速に行動し、避難場所への移動も慣れたものです。本当に避難するようなことが起きなければいいのにと願うと同時に、御岳山の噴火や台風で被災された方がたへ心からお悔やみ申しあげます。
We also had an emergency drill this September. Living in a country which experiences natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons, we want all our students to be prepared in case such a situation occurs during school hours. Everyone moved swiftly and carefully to our meeting point.

Summer School Report part 4

9月に入り、新しいセメスターが始まりましたが、本日のポストではサマースクールの後半から最終までを振り返ります。
Here at Beanstalk, we have finished summer school in August and our new fall semester has begun. Let’s take a little break and look back at all the fun we had during the last weeks of summer school.

1st から4thセッションまでを通して、今回はクラシックストーリーをテーマにしてきました。お盆明けの3rd セッションではJourney，4thセッションではFantasy Storyを取り上げ、あらすじに添ったアクティビティーを実施しました。
We finished learning about our books and did lots of fun activities!

Children learned not only about literature by reading a new book each week, but also subjects such as science and math.

エネルギーいっぱいのキッズ達にはフィジカルなアクティビティーもたくさん用意しました。そのひとつがビーンストークではすっかりお馴染みの直井先生による空手の指導です。
Of course, we had plenty of movement, including karate class.

Everyone really gave it their best try! Osu!

ペインティングや工作もたくさん取り入れました。
We did a lot of painting and crafts….

and practiced our motor skills with funny games!

1st,2ndセッションではモリコロパークや元気村、そして3rdセッションではセントレア空港へトリップに行ったことは、こちらのブログでもご報告済みですが、最後にもうひとつ。天白公園に市バスを利用して行ってきました。その間、お留守番の2-3才児クラスMissy Mouseさんは、いつも他のクラスが使っている広いジムでのアクティビティーを楽しみました。
No trip? No problem! Missy Mouse class had a great time playing in the gym while the older children were away.

そして、幼児と小学生のお友達は、天白公園トリップを思う存分エンジョイしました。
and the kindergarten and Elementary students all had fun with their friends at the park.

We had a picnic lunch all together to end the day.

長いようで、あっという間に終わってしまう夏休みですが、今年も仲良くなったお友達とのお別れを惜しみつつSee you next year!!
We hope to see everyone again during Winter School!

Summer School Report 3

今回はビーンストークサマースクール後半のメインイベント、「セントレア滑走路ツアー」の様子をお伝えします。通常では入れないバックヤードやランウェイを見られるというので、子供たちはもちろん引率のスタッフも楽しみにしていました。
We had a great time during our second half of summer school, too. We took an exciting trip to the airport and got a behind-the-scenes tour! Come along and join us!

空港へ着いたら、まずクイーン・アリスでランチを摂り、これからのお楽しみに備えます。みんなお行儀よく、レストランの方にも褒めていただきました。テーブルからは、滑走路や飛行機が目の前に見え、これから参加するツアーへの期待が高まります!
First, we had lunch at the airport’s restaurant. It was so yummy, and we could see the airplanes taking off and landing. Everyone was on their best behavior and very well-mannered in the restaurant.

ツアー実施前には、控え室で所員さんとの質疑応答の後、セキュリーティーチェックを受けました。きちんと答えられるか緊張しながら、優しいお姉さんの質問に答えます。みんな大きな声で名前と年齢を答え、予め提出してある名簿に間違いがないか、不審者はいないか厳重なチェックが入ります。
Before going on the tour, we listened to the guides and went through a security check. Everyone said their names and ages, and showed the inside of their bags. We want to get on the bus and see the planes!
