本日は、ビーンストークのサマーイベントとして今年初めて導入された英語合宿の模様をお伝えいたします。
For the first time at Beanstalk summer school, we went on an overnight camping trip. Our goal was to learn about sportsmanship and teamwork, and of course to have a blast camping!
宿泊先の元気村は、緑が多くてとってもきれいです。アウトドアライフを満喫できます!
We stayed at Genki Mura in Asahi-kougen. It was beautiful!
日本家屋のつつじ屋敷には、いろりや五右衛門風呂もありました。
We went to put away our things and relax for a little while in our cabin.
到着後直ぐに施設を見学した後は、センターステージにて早速アクティビティーを開始しました。まずは、チームワークを必要とするゲームです。
After a walk and picnic lunch on the stage, we started our team building games.
夕食は、お肉•シーフード•お野菜と栄養満点のバーベキューです
For dinner that night, we had a barbecue. Teachers cooked and children ate… a lot!
暗くなり始めた頃からキャンプファイアーを開始しました。少し早めのスタートですが、この後はスターウォッチングが待っています。
As it got darker, we moved onto the mainstay of camping- we made a bonfire, and told stories and played games around it.
とても大きな天体望遠鏡で、土星の輪や夏の大三角形を見る事ができました。
And when the bonfire went out, we tried star-watching. We were able to see Saturn through this telescope! We also learned a lot about the constellations that are visible in the summertime.
夜明けにこっそり覗いてみたら、頭と足下が逆さまになっていてびっくり!
Then it was time to go back to our cabins and go to sleep. All the students helped arrange the futons and put the sheets and pillowcases on. They cleaned them up in the morning, too.
次の朝は快晴で、展望台まで一気に上って行きました!
清々しい一日の始まりです。
The next day, we had a brisk morning walk followed by a big breakfast!
お別れの会では一人づつ修了証をもらい、学んだ事をおさらいしました。
At our closing ceremony, all the students received a certificate proving that they are now great team workers.
子供達は合宿期間中、一言も日本語を使わなくても充分リラックスして楽しく過ごす事ができました。チームワークに必要な3つの言葉を胸に刻んで 元気村とお別れです。Our three magic words are “Cooporation, Communication, Trust”.
We had a great time at camp! Hope to see everyone again next summer for more outdoor fun.
