2017 11th Annual Christmas Concert

We had an amazingly fun annual Christmas Concert in December. The students had been practicing for the whole second semester to get ready for the big event.

The students made decorations and Christmas cards to decorate the hall! They were beautiful.

Act 1: Drum Performance

The first of the acts was the drumming performance. Children from Deedee Dear and Robby Rabbits performed songs from famous fables.

DeeDee Deer 2: “Ruslan and Lyudmila”.

Robby Rabbits: “Carmen and Minuet”.

Robby Rabbits: “William Tell Overture and Minuet”

Deedee Deer 1: “Nutcracker Suite and In the Mood”.

Deedee Dear 2 came back on stage to perform drum medleys to the “Danger Zone, Thunderstruck and CARS”.

Robby and Deedee Classes came together to perform: “Tomorrow”.

Act 2: Song and Dance Performance

All classes got a chance to shine, singing and dancing to holidays classics in our second act.

Missy Mouse “Jingle Bells”.

Missy Mouse: “Feliz Navidad”.

All the girls singing “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”and all the boys singing”One Way or Another”.

Robby Rabbit: “Silver Bells”.

Deedee Deer 2: “Christmas Time Again”

Beanstalk Teachers: “What Christmas Means to Me”.

Beanstalk Mothers: “Beanstalk Christmas Special Medley”.

Students took a break and enjoyed the teachers and parents performances!

The students returned to the stage for their final performance.

Robby and Deedee Deer sang together- 2 Japanese songs: “Awatenbo no Santa Claus“and “Yuki ya Konko”. The final song of the evening was “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”.

Centrair Music Wings Fall 2017

We had a great time performing at Centrair Music Wings!

ビーンストークの園児たちは毎週ドラミングを練習しています。11月12日にはセントレア空港で行われた「Centrair Music Wings festival」という演奏会に招待されました。

Once again, Beanstalk Drum Company was invited to perform at Centrair International Airport for the Centrair Music Wings festival!

セントレア空港で開かれる音楽祭には、愛知県各地からさまざまなジャンルのバンドが出演します。ビーンストークは春に続いて2回目の出演となりました。県下の有名なグループの方に混じって演奏できるなんて、なんて光栄なんでしょう！お招きいただきありがとうございます！

And then we got changed and ready to play! Everyone was so excited, and a little nervous, too.

演奏の前はドキドキしていましたが、いざ始まってみるといつも通り元気いっぱいのパフォーマンスができましたよ！

We listened to the bands performing before us. It makes you want to dance!

Robby Rabbit Class performed first：Carmen and William Tell.

年少児中心のロビーラビットクラスはクラシックのナンバー「カルメン」と「ウィリアムテル」を演奏しました。

Deedee Deer Class 1 performed “In the Mood”

年中児中心のディーディーディアクラス1ではジャズナンバーの「インザムード」を披露しました。

Deedee Deer Class 2 performed a medley of “Thunderstruck” “Danger Zone” and “You May Think I’m Crazy”.

年長児中心のディーディーディアクラス2は３曲メドレーのポップソングをクールに決めました！

Go, go, Deedee 2! All the children were cheering on their friends.

上級生をみんなで応援します！

Last, we all sang “Tomorrow” from Annie together.

最後は年少から年長まで全園児による大合唱！アニーのテーマ曲としておなじみの感動の名曲です。

Thank you to Centrair for this amazing opportunity, and to the families for coming out with us on a Sunday!

当日参加バンドの中では最年少でしたが、最高にエネルギッシュな演奏ができました！今度はクリスマスコンサートでのパフォーマンスを楽しみにしています！

2017 Tanabata Festival

We had a great time celebrating Tanabata here at Beanstalk!

Tanabata is the ancient Chinese folktale where Orihime, the princess, and Hikoboshi, the prince, try to meet across the milky way.

We celebrate by writing our own wishes and hanging them on a bamboo branch.

Students have been working since May for this special day.

Each class sang a song by themselves.

Next, all classes joined together to sing and play their instruments.

楽しいお月見　September Tsukimi Party

9月14日、Beanstalkではお月見団子を作りました。真っ白くて丸いお団子は秋の満月に見えますね！
Students at Beanstalk celebrated the Japanese holiday of Tsukimi by making dango dumplings! These white, round dumplings represent the big, white full moon of the “15th night”.

自分たちで材料を正しく計り、ボールに入れてミックスするのは年中さん以上のお仕事です。未就園児さんと年少さんはコロコロ丸めてまん丸なお団子を作りました

We had a lot of fun measuring and mixing the dough!

テクスチャーを楽しみながら、形を整えまーるいお団子の出来上がりです!

Everybody is good at rolling the little dumplings with their hands.

作ったお団子は食後のデザートとしていただきました。

Of course, eating the dumplings is the best part!

2014年度卒園式 Graduation and Year-end Party

Congratulations Graduates!

We had our Graduation and Year-end Party on March 18th this year. All students were nervous but excited for the big event. Putting on our caps and gowns…

and taking photos with our families.

Proud parents watched a slideshow with photos from the students’ first day of school all the way until graduation day.

And finally, the ceremony begins.

Then we had our lunch party! All the underclassmen were so excited to come and celebrate with their big “brothers” and “sisters”.

3学期のまとめ　Fun in the third semester!

3学期初めのビッグイベントは節分でした。子供達は自分で作った恵方巻きを食べてクラフトを作ったあと、いよいよ鬼の登場です。あまりの興奮に写真を撮るのも忘れてしまいました。
Demons, beans and giant sushi rolls!
Kids had fun throwing beans at the Oni on Setsubun day. After that they ate their own sushi they made by themselves.

今年の恵方「南西」の方向を向いて、一番たくさん食べた子は、なんと6本！今までの最高新記録が出ました。

節分のあとはすぐにバレンタインのイベントがありました。毎年チョコレートのおやつを作って、おうちの方にプレゼントします。今年は可愛いらしい「どらやき」を作りました。
On Valentines day we had fun making dorayaki with chocolate filling! Kids cut heart shaped pancakes and decorated them with sprinkles.

毎年２月に行われるスポーツデイは、全園児とファミリーが最も楽しみにしているイベントです。この日のために、おじいちゃんやおばあちゃんが、遠くから見にきてくださったご家庭もたくさんありました。
Everybody was excited for the Sports day. Here you’ll see the kids practicing their cheers and drum performance. Well done for team spirit and sportsmanship.

保護者参加のゲームもいっぱいで、参加者全員エキサイテッド！スーパージャンプやフアインプレーが続出です。ママさんたちのチアーリーダーズもバッチリ決まっていました。
Parents and guardians participated and too. We saw amazing jumping, running and throwing skills. What an active and fun day it really was.

3月のひな祭りは、毎年女の子がオシャレをして登園する日です。今年も可愛く着飾ってくださり、とっても華やかな1日でした。
On Hina Matsuri- Girls’ Festival girls looked very beautiful in their dresses even the boys looked really handsome. Kids ate hina-arare crackers for snack to celebrate the festival.

ウィンタースクール•レポート/Winter School Report

ビーンストークでは、クリスマス休暇の前後に毎年恒例のウィンタースクールを開校しました。英語で終日過ごす冬季のプログラムは、楽しいイベント盛りだくさんで、スクールの中は外の寒さを吹き飛ばすくらい元気な笑い声であふれていました。
Although it was short, everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly at this year’s Beanstalk Winter School program!

今回のテーマは「宇宙」です。毎日テーマに沿ったアクティビティーを実施しました。
We learned about Space, but also enjoyed our traditional winter activities.

こちらは恒例「餅つき&空手」です。空手の練習の後は、つきたてのお餅で腹ごしらえ。
The children enjoyed kicking, running, and learning new moves in Karate class.

力持ちの空手ティーチャーズは、ビーンストークのお餅つきになくてはならない存在です。美味しいお餅をいとも簡単につきあげて下さいます！
With the help of our strong Karate teachers, we made mochi in preparation for the new year. All the children loved rolling and eating the soft, freshly-made mochi!

クリスマス前クッキングプロフジェクトでは、マッシュポテトのカナッペでツリーを作り、プチトマトのサンタで飾りました。
On the last day before winter vacation, we cooked a Christmas treat for our friends! Classes made one of three kinds of foods, and shared with their friends in the other classes.

ウィンタースクール期間に行われたサタデークラスでは、クリスマスパーティーでプレゼント交換やゲーム大会を行いました。
We also had a Christmas party on Saturday featuring cooking, games, and a rousing game of pass-the-parcel!

ウィンタースクールの最後には、トヨタ体験科学館へ出かけ「プラネタリウム」を見てきました。体験型の遊具や実験道具もたくさんあり、所員の方からは静電気について教えていただきました。
After the break, the older students went on an excursion to Toyota Science Museum where they enjoyed the planetarium, a science show, and lots of hands-on activities.

ビーンストークの3学期は、「Good morning!」の元気な声で始まり、イヤーエンドまで一気に駆け抜けます。目指せ「インフルエンザ•ゼロ」!!
Now the new semester has started and everyone is getting back into the swing of school. We hope to see you next time for Spring School!

2014年度クリスマスコンサート　4th Annual Christmas Concert

本日は、先日のポストでお伝えした2014年度ビーンストーク•クリスマスコンサートの様子をお伝えします。

Finally the time has come for our annual Christmas Concert! All the students have been practicing for the whole second semester to get ready for this big event.

エントランスでは、オーディエンスの皆さまを可愛らしいスノーマンがお迎えしました。手作りのデコレーションがクリスマスムードを盛り上げます。

All students helped make decorations, and many families made Christmas cards to decorate the hall with as well! They were beautiful.

Act 1: Drum Performance

第一部のドラム演奏では、一年かけて練習してきた超大作を披露しました。
The first act was drums. Deedee class 1, 2, and Robby Rabbit class students worked their hardest to memorize and perform these drum routines.

第二部では歌とダンスを披露し、皆さまから大きな拍手をいただきました。

2〜3歳のミッシーマウスクラスは、それぞれ違う言語の歌を(英語、日本語、スペイン語)3曲も歌い、リズムに合わせてノリノリでした！
This year for the first time, Missy Mouse class came back to sing a Japanese song! They sang “Yuki ya Konko“, and did a great job.

コンサートの途中で小さなサンタが客席に降りた時は、パパやママが大騒ぎになりました。可愛すぎて写真を撮らずにはいられない！！
Students took a break and joined the audience to watch the teachers’ song!

先生たちからは、メリークリスマスのメッセージが…❤︎
This year we had a special surprise ready for students and their families.

最後は”We Wish You a Merry Christmas”の合唱で幕を閉じました。
The students returned to the stage for their final performance.

Robby and Deedee sang together- two Japanese songs: “Awatenbo no Santa Claus” and “O-shougatsu“, and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”.

Beanstalk Halloween Party

本日は10月31日に実施したハロウィーンイベントの様子をご紹介します。
It’s October 31st…. Welcome to our Halloween Party!

「今年のテーマはスペースにする！」と決めて以来、スタッフもそれぞれどんなコスチュームにするか考えていました。スクールの施設内も宇宙船の様に飾り付けをし、ポップなデコレーションは片付けるのがもったいないほど一生懸命作りました。
Our school theme was “Outer Space” and all teachers and staff dressed the part. We decorated the school with hand-made spacy decorations.

12:00からのプリスクール•ポトラック•ランチパーティーは、仮装した子供達やパパ•ママで大にぎわいでした!　この日のためにお友達や親子で揃えた方や、手作りのコスチュームでユニークなキャラクターを身にまとった方など、忘れられない思い出になりました。
At our preschool lunch party, all our students came dressed in fantastic costumes, and many parents, too!

スクールでのダンスパフォーマンスは大盛り上がり！一番小さい未就園児さんでも泣かないで踊って歌いました。
We had a wonderful dance performance by all students- even our youngest Missy Mouse student did not cry in front of the audience.

毎年お邪魔している寿荘では、大勢のおじいちゃまやおばあちゃまが歌やダンスを一緒に楽しんでくださいました。クリスマスでまたお会いできるのを楽しみにしています!
We made a visit to Kotobuki-sou Retirement Home, and sang and danced with the residents there. See you again at Christmas time!

夜のパレードの時には、あいにく小雨が降ってきましたが、「雨なんか気にしない！」と気合で乗り切りました。最後まで参加してくださった方、本当にありがとうございました。
At our night Halloween parade, it was raining, but none of the students seemed to mind! Many participants made it all the way to the last stop. Thank you for coming out during such weather.

Tanabata Concert 2014 七夕コンサート

We had a wonderful time at our annual Tanabata Concert on July 4th!

All the students thought hard about what they would write on their tanzaku wishes days in advance. After writing our wishes in English, we hung them on the big bamboo tree set up in the gym.
