2017 – 2018 Graduation

March came upon us very quickly and we were faced with our Deedee Deer 2 class graduating. We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours and look forward to seeing the students who are joining us for the afternoon classes.

Christmas at Kotobuki-sou

At Beanstalk we like to visit the nearby retirement home “Kotobuki-sou” a few times a year. Today, we went for our Christmas visit!

Our Trip to the Fire Station

We had a great time visiting the Tenpaku Fire Station!

On November 13th, Robby Rabbit and Deedee Deer classes visited Tenpaku Fire Station. We got to see so many cool things there!

We saw the emergency vehicles, like the fire truck… we got to sit in the driver’s seat!

Halloween 2017 – Beanstalk 10th Anniversary Party!

We had a great time at our Halloween Party!! This year is our 10th Anniversary, so we had an extra-special celebration.

Students and teachers alike worked so hard on the decorations, most of which were handmade.

パーティーを飾るデコレーションは全て園児や教師の手作りです。夏休み明けから少しづつ用意して、素敵な飾りを作りました。

今年のテーマは『Dia de Muertos』スパニッシュハロウィーンです。

デコレーションはテーマに沿ってカラフルな紙で作ったパペルピカドやお花など、見ているだけでワクワクするものがたくさんできました。

First, we made a stop at Kotobuki-sou to visit our neighborhood grandmas and grandpas. We sang some English and Japanese songs.

当日は毎年お邪魔するシニアハウスの寿荘訪問からスタートです。

英語の歌だけではなく、秋にちなんだ童謡など居住者の皆さまと一緒に楽しめる曲を選曲しました。

寿荘の皆さまにお贈りするプレゼントも全て手作りです!2歳児から年長さんまで全園児が少しづつ分担して作った壁飾りをお渡ししました。

ベランダを飾ったパペルピカドはサタデークラスの小学生さんにも手伝ってもらいました。青空に映えてとても綺麗でした。

パフォーマンスの後は全園児、生徒さんをご招待してのディナーパーティーです。勤続10年のMiss Katherineキャサリン先生にはサプライズで表彰とプレゼントの授与がありました。

After trick-or-treating, it was time to go home. Thank you to all our students and families for making this the best Halloween yet!

ディナーの後、お菓子をもらうパレードに出発し、ハロウィーンの夜は更けていきました。たくさんの方にお越しいただき、本当に楽しくメモラブルな一夜になりました。参加していただいた皆さまに心より感謝申し上げます。

Welcome to our Halloween Party!!

Beanstalk’s annual Halloween Party will be held on October 31st- Halloween Night!

We have a fun night planned, with a visit to Kotobukiso retirement home, a dance performance from our preschool students, a dinner party at Amandan Terrace, and finally the finale- our famous Trick or Treat parade!

Summer School 2017 pt. 2 : Camp!

Everyone was super excited for our overnight camping trip this summer. Even the bus ride down was great!

This year, some of our graduates joined as junior staff to lend a hand! They were such a big help.

We started the day with some fun and games inside…

…and as soon as the weather cleared up, went outside to move around!

For dinner, all students helped barbecue grill meat, sausages and veggies.

And as soon as it got dark, we headed to the bonfire. It was many students’ first time to try ‘smores, a traditional campfire treat.

The next day, everyone took a walk together in the wilderness.

After breakfast in our cabins, it was time for our next adventure.

Summer School 2017 Report pt. 1

We had a great time at Summer School! This year, we focused on the Four Seasons. Each week of our Summer School session was used to learn lots about each different season, using science, books and crafts to help us learn.

The first week, our theme was the season of “Spring”.

Older students performed lots of experiments, including this one to see how seeds grow under different conditions.

We took a trip to Morikoro Park to learn all about nature and the plants around us.

At Morikoro park we made our own picture frame using objects from nature.

We also made some “chirashi-zushi” using yummy vegetables that grow during the spring.

2017 Tanabata Festival

We had a great time celebrating Tanabata here at Beanstalk!

Tanabata is the ancient Chinese folktale where Orihime, the princess, and Hikoboshi, the prince, try to meet across the milky way.

Centrair Sky Marching Festival 2017

We were honored to recieve an invitation to participate in the 2nd Centrair Sky Marching Festival on May 27th! Beanstalk students and graduates participated as “Beanstalk Drum Company” and sang, danced and played the drums.

We have lots of fun trips planned, including the Nagoya Science Museum, Morikoro Park, Minami Chita Beachland, and going grape picking!

We will also be going on an overnight summer camp for students 5 and older!
