This year’s Summer School theme is “You too can be an inventor”.
We are so excited to learn about the history of accidental, classic and useless inventions. And create our own!
From familiar objects to inventions that changed culture as we know it.
We will learn about many inventions and the stories behind them.
We can’t wait to share with you our fun and creative lessons.
Please check out this unforgettable moment from our graduation ceremony.
Firstly, we would like to show our appreciation and respect for the people who are taking care of the COVID-19 situation.
At Beanstalk, we are holding seasonal school as planned. However, after much deliberation, we have decided to only accept applications from current Beanstalk students due to health and safety reasons. Thank you to those who have requested, and apologies to those students who are not able to attend due to the current circumstances. We hope that you will join us as soon as everything is back to normal. We hope everyone stays safe.

After the winter break students came back for the last day of Winter school.
We took a trip to SCMAGLEV and Railway Park. The SCMaglev is a magnetic levitation railway system developed by Central Japan Railway Company and the Railway Technical Research Institute.
Due to Covid-19 we wore masks and sprayed our hands throughout the trip. We only removed our masks for certain photos and lunch.
There was lots to see. From classic steam locomotives to…
the super fast bullet trains. We actually got to eat our lunch inside this one!
It came in a Dr. Yellow box!
Look! It’s Dr. Yellow!
There was lots of interactive displays for us to learn about how trains work.
The was even a train simulator.
We got to walk through and check out what the trains looked like inside.
It was a really fun trip and we learned a lot about how trains work.
Our karate instructors came to Beanstalk for Mochitsuki during Winter School. Mochitsuki (餅つき) is a Japanese tradition which involves the pounding of rice to make mochi. It is celebrated before the New Year.
Before we start making mochi, the karate instructors give each class a lesson.
Phew! All that exercise gave us quite the appetite.
The karate instructors show all the children how to turn rice into mochi.
We all got a go at pounding the rice.
We ate the mochi after lunch! It was very yummy.
We hope everyone has enjoyed the holiday season. We wish you all a Happy New Year. May the new year bring happiness for you and your loved ones.
Beanstalk International School will be closed from December 26th to January 5th. We will reply to any emails we receive during the holiday after winter break. We hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!!
ビーンストーク インターナショナル スクールは12月26日から1月5日までお休みをいただきます。この期間にいただいたEメールに関しましては、年始開校次第順次お返事させていただきます。皆さまどうかお健やかに新年をお迎え下さい。Happy New Year !!
Our first trip of winter school was at Asahikogen in the mountains. We went there for some awesome sledding!
Our theme is transportation and with the season being winter we thought it’d be great to experience some winter transport.
We had wonderful snow all over the mountain and the view was very beautiful.
It was very cold up there so everyone dressed up in their winter wear. Looking rather cool, don’t you think?.
We had the slope to ourselves for the afternoon and after a short walk up the ramp it was time for…
sledding!
It was great fun and we even got time to play in the snow.
It was such a fun day and we really enjoyed playing in the snow.
