Due to the spread of COVID, we chose to hold Sports Day a little earlier this year, and in a slightly different way than usual. We still had a lot of fun- here’s a peek at what we did!
First, we were joined by our Missy Mouse preschool class. After singing the Hello Song, it was time to play games!
We ran races, danced and sang, and even put balls into our team’s basket! All the children had a great time playing together with parents and teachers.
Next it was the kindergarteners’ turn! First, we started with our traditional marching in to music.
“Sensei! We will try our best!” Our two team captains made an oath that both teams would try their very best.
Next, the games began! First up was the Candy Race.
We were lucky to be able to show off the 4-6 year old Deedee Deer class’ soccer skills as well this year!
Robby Rabbit class, our 3 and 4 year olds, amazed us with their balancing and singing with the Flamingo Dance.
And Deedee Deer class showed their passion with a rousing Shishi no Mai Lion Dance!
Our finale was the races! This year we did a running race and an obstacle course.
Everyone did their best and we all got a very nice participation medal.

The annual music festival at Centrair airport was held on November 7th. We were very grateful to be invited to perform again and are thankful to everyone who worked on the event.
The audience was arranged following the new guidelines to mitigate the spread of Covid-19. The event team wiped everything down after every performance, ready for the next act and audience members. Their hard work was really appreciated, showing care for all the performers and audience members.
We followed along with the new rules by wearing our face masks and using antibacterial spray. We did this back stage, in the dressing room and during rehearsals.
Our graduate on the left has performed many times so she is very relaxed. For the girls on the right, this is their first time performing in public. They were a little nervous to start with but they quickly enjoyed themselves.
We knew we shouldn’t talk without our masks!

On October 30th, we here at Beanstalk held our annual trick-or-treat parade! We did our best to adhere to the rules for our “new normal”.
Many events have been canceled this year to stop the spread of COVID-19. We were able to hold the Halloween Parade by making sure all activities were outdoors, and limiting our attendants to current students only, which ensured that everyone would follow the rules.
Instead of our usual lunch party and fashion show, students posed for photos inside special Halloween photo booths. They were set up at 3 trick-or-treat spots just for preschool students. We had a lot of fun trick-or-treating and taking photos outside!

That night, we had our yearly Trick-or-Treat parade including Saturday School and Afternoon students! With masks on and maintaining social distance, students had fun going to 7 trick-or-treat spots to get lots of treats. Thank you so much to the families who donated candies, to the parents who helped pack treats into bags, and to everyone who attended. Thanks to you we were able to hold a successful and fun Halloween event!
Next year we hope that COVID-19 will be under control, and we can spend our days safely and healthily.
