The students have settled back into school life here at Beanstalk.

Our Missy Mouse students have been enjoying the games and activities we’ve had.

The Robby Rabbits have been joined by the DeeDee Deer class for their trips to the park.

We have had a few birthdays this month.

The theme for DeeDee Deer has been dinosaurs this month. They’ve really enjoyed learning about the prehistoric world and they got to make a dinosaur cushion this week.

 

It is going to really get busy next month with Halloween and Christmas just around the corner.

 

We had an evacuation drill here at Beanstalk this week.

The students reacted quickly to the alarms we set, getting under cover quickly.

They all continued to stay focused and walk calmly to the evacuation area.

We are really impressed with the speed, calmness , and focus our students showed.

 

 

We would like to say that our hearts go out to those affected by the earthquake that hit Hokkaido.

This week at Beanstalk we had Moon Viewing Otsukimi (お月見) party.

All the children made their own Dango (団子).

It was super yummy.

After eating we took some really cute photos….

…and some silly ones too!

We had “Respect for the Aged Day” (敬老の日 Keirō no Hi) here at Beanstalk this week.

The students made their grandparents some gifts with a personal touch.

Building grandpa’s and grandma’s face is meticulous work.

But the end result was well worth it.

 

We hope all the grandparents enjoy their gifts.

Summer has ended and our students are happy to be back at school!

We’re so happy to see all our old friends…

…and see our teachers again!

We have also welcomed some new friends to school!

We are playing outside…

and learning a lot inside as well!

The last week of summer school had the students learning about oceanography.

 

 

 

 

We learned about many creatures that live the ocean.

Our final trip of summer school was to Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium.

We got to see many interesting creatures and learn a bit more about how they live.

On the last day of summer school we had a BBQ.

All the students helped to prepare the food.

Yummy!

 

This year at Beanstalk’s summer school the students learned a lot about natural science.

We covered space and planets.

Geology and how it affects our planet.

And oceanography, learning about the ocean and the creatures that live there.

Many questions were answered and many more asked.

Summer school has been a lot of fun and the students got to learn a lot more about not only the world we live on but our whole universe.

We look forward to the students returning to use for the next semester.

The students learned about geology in the third week of summer school.

One of the topics was volcanoes and we set up a demonstration of how they work.

During the third week we got to visit Gamagori Inochino Umi science museum.

We took a guided tour looking at fossils showing the origins of the Earth.

 

 

 

 

We saw many examples of rock formations showing how Earth has evolved.

After the tour we went for lunch at a seaside Spanish restaurant.

 

We had a high quality pasta with salad and played in the spacious outdoor garden.

After lunch we visited a fantasy museum following a planned path.

The students each got a unique shell reward at the end of the museum.
